Kathy brings more than 30 years experience in the nonprofit sector to her consulting practice. She has served in the role of nonprofit board member, executive director and chief advancement officer and through these experiences has a breadth of knowledge and experience that enhances her consulting practice. Working as philanthropic counsel with nonprofit organizations for more than 10 years, she is known for her keen strategic insight, strong personalized service to clients, seasoned professional abilities and high integrity.  

Prior to forming The Bella Group, Kathy served as a senior consultant for a national nonprofit management and fundraising consulting firm. Other professional positions held by Kathy include: Executive Director of DES Action USA; Vice President for Development at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate; Chief Development Officer for the Friends and Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library; and Associate Director of Annual Giving at the University of California San Francisco.

As an active volunteer, Kathy currently serves on the board of directors and executive committees of the Craigslist Foundation and the Association of Philanthropic Counsel. She also serves on the Development Committee of Synergy School, an independent K-8 school in San Francisco. Past volunteer experience includes serving as Board and Executive Committee member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Golden Gate Chapter; Chair of the Community Advisory Board of the UCSF AIDS Health Project; Board Member of ODC, a contemporary dance company, theatre and school; Board and Executive Committee member of the Connecticut affiliate of NARAL; and Parent Respite Program volunteer for United Cerebral Palsy Association.
